How much does occupational therapy cost in Dubai?

Occupational therapy pricing can look wildly different from one provider's website to the next, which makes it hard to know what's reasonable. Here's what actually drives the number, and how to get a figure you can trust.

What actually drives the price

Session length is the first variable — most OT sessions run 45 to 60 minutes, though shorter follow-ups exist for some plans, and a longer session naturally costs more per visit. The therapist's experience matters too: a senior OT with years of paediatric or sensory-integration experience typically charges more per hour than a newly qualified therapist, even though both are fully qualified to practise.

Where the session happens changes the cost as well. Home-based sessions usually carry a premium over centre-based ones once travel time is factored in, while centre-based sessions often give access to specialised equipment — swings, climbing frames, a full sensory gym — that a home session can't replicate. Frequency is the other big lever: some children do well with one session a week over a long stretch, others need a short, intensive block of two or three sessions weekly to make faster progress on a specific goal.

A general sense of the Dubai market

As informational context only: private OT sessions in Dubai commonly range from roughly AED 250 to AED 450+ per hour, depending on the therapist's experience and whether it's home or centre-based. As with most therapy costs, what your insurance covers depends on your specific policy, so it's worth confirming the details with your insurer rather than assuming either way.

Why we assess first, then give you a number

A flat quote for "OT" before anyone has actually seen your child's fine motor skills, sensory profile, or self-care goals isn't a real estimate — it's a guess. We assess first, so the plan and the price both reflect what your child actually needs, not a generic package.
