Questions parents ask.
- How does the membership work?
- You choose a plan — 4, 8 or 12 one-hour sessions per month — and pay once for a 3-month term. We match vetted tutors to your child's subjects, curriculum and area, and sessions happen at your home on a weekly schedule. Every session is logged against your plan.
- Is this a subscription that auto-renews?
- No. You pay once, upfront, for the full 3-month term — nothing is charged automatically. Before your term ends we'll check in, and renewing (or changing plan) is a fresh, deliberate payment.
- Can we split sessions across different subjects?
- Yes — that's the point of the membership. Your monthly sessions are a shared pool, and we bring a specialist tutor for each subject: maths on Tuesday, Arabic on Thursday, all inside one plan.
- Do unused sessions roll over?
- No — plans work best when the weekly rhythm is realistic, so pick the plan you'll actually use. If travel or illness disrupts a stretch of the term, we allow one pause per term, which extends your term dates instead of losing sessions.
- What if we need to reschedule a session?
- Give your tutor 24 hours' notice and the session moves free. Cancellations inside 24 hours, or no-shows, count as a used session — that's what protects your tutor's committed weekly slot.
- Who are the tutors?
- Qualified tutors vetted by our team — interviewed, reference- and background-checked, with experience in your child's curriculum. They're managed, not freelance: we review quality throughout the term, and if the match isn't working we replace the tutor at no cost.
- Which areas do you cover?
- We serve families across all seven emirates. Matching is fastest in Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman today; for other emirates we'll confirm tutor availability in your area before your term starts.
- Can sessions be longer for exam prep?
- Yes — book a double session (two hours back-to-back), which simply uses two credits from your plan. Popular in IGCSE, A-Level, IB and board exam terms.
- My child has learning support needs — can you handle that?
- Better than anyone — supporting children who learn differently is where Special Minds started. Mention it in the form and we'll match a tutor with the right experience. If your child needs more than tutoring, start with an assessment or see Managed LSA.
- What if we want to stop mid-term?
- The term fee is non-refundable once your tutor is matched, since their weekly slot is committed to you — but if something genuinely isn't working, talk to us. We'll fix the match, pause the term, or credit remaining sessions toward another Special Minds service.
